  • Beginner Class – Learn the basics using quick cutting techniques and machine piecing tips in just six sessions.  Everything from fabric selection to binding the finished quilt will be demonstrated and discussed.  
  • Story Quilts – Commemorate a special event such as a vacation or even a “wish I could be there” dream in just two weeks.
  • “Is That Really Me” – Create a character portrait of yourself or someone else using unique fabrics and embellishments.
  • Queen Size Bed Quilt – From fabric selection to finished quilt top this class takes you through all the steps of completing a top ready for quilting in only four sessions.

 

  
   

 Butterfly Watercolor Quilt- Email for details....Sue

Classes taught by:   Sue Coburn Bailey, a native Texan has been a lover of quilts all her life. Her (Great)Grandma Stewart’s quilts provided warmth and comfort on a daily basis.  However, it was not until living in Aruba that she became interested in quilt making herself. Her friend, Carol, had no idea that asking her to help quilt a church raffle project would lead Sue into the world of teaching, pattern designing, and shop ownership. After studying with  many world renown quilters, Sue finally accepted a teaching  request while living in Abu Dhabi and has been bringing the world of quilting to persons in many parts of the world since 1990. 

She has been published in the AQS publication, American Quilter when her quick watercolor technique was featured in the Spring 2003 issue.  Sue's love of working with many fabrics has brought her recognition for her quilt "Desert Stars" and "Life is a Puzzle" on many occasions at quilt shows.  Her patterns included, "Heart Wreath" ( a quick "watercolor technique), Texas Charm" (a map of Texas done in a color wash technique), and Sue's Cabin (Sunbonnet Sue variation on a rectangular log cabin block).
